During Gamescom, CD Projekt Red have released more gameplay footage and screens for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and it’s still looking spectacular! The Downwarren trailer for The Witcher 3 only serves to further prove this to be a day one purchase for me. What’s on display really doesn’t offer much that hasn’t been seen before, simply more of it. Sort of like a different flavoured packet of crisps. Both good, essentially the same thing, but still new and different on some surface level.
One of the things that really stood out for me was the fact that in the first few minutes the changing of signs could be seen as Geralt, or at least the person in control of him, cycled through Quen, Igni and the others on the fly. Something that hasn’t been quite so readily available in the two previous installments. The combat is still looking to be yet another superb upgrade from the already brilliant combat system of it’s predecessor, and the feel of open world freedom to simply explore ala Elder Scrolls is really coming across in these scripted showcases.
I see myself sinking an almost dangerous amount of time into this one as I sheepishly avoid the primary storyline as it apparently means the end of the incredible Witcher saga. Genuinely cannot wait.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 24th February 2015. You can pre-order as well as follow on Twitter, Facebook or visit the website now. Make sure you checkout some of the screens and artwork released so far below.
