The Sinking City’s Detective Wades In

We mentioned The Sinking City in a recent podcast about games we were interested in during the first half of 2019.  The Frogwares developed Lovecraft inspired detective game has our interest piqued and we’ve been hoovering up any new information.  Now they’ve revealed a new trailer that shows off the how the detective elements are going to play out, and it looks like we’ll all need our Columbo questioning techniques sharpening up.

It’s looking as impressive as it’s looking f’d up, but we’re liking the inclusion of the mind palace and the clear links back to the developers pedigree with the Sherlock Holmes series.  Though it’s not like it’s a walk in the park – you’ll have to stretch those old grey cells to figure out what’s been going on.  At least there might be some respite from the cerebral work with blasting monsters that get in your way… if they’re actually there of course.

The Sinking City is shaping up to be a unique adventure that could potentially deliver on the concept that Call of Cthulhu tried to deliver on.  It is scheduled for release on the 21st March on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and whilst you wait, keep your wits about you and don’t start imagining great hulking ancient Gods stalking you in the dead of night.
