There’s not really any new info on Codemasters new GRID game, it’s still a multi-discipline racer featuring a wide selection of vehicles, tracks and events. We know it features Fernando Alonso as a race consultant and AI opponent for you to conquer. There’s also the intriguing nemesis system that watches all those little knocks and scrapes with the competition and decides whether you’re a target for a takedown or not. It’s shaping up to be a playable action oriented racer with less focus on the sim side, though built on an excellent handling model from arguably the best driving game developer right now. What is new is that we’ve got some gorgeous footage showcasing what’s in store come 11th October when the game hits the shelves. Simply enjoy the stunning in game video of what looks like the Ford Focus Touring Car, Holden V8 Supercar and the Jedi F1000 Spec open wheel single-seater being driven in anger.
If that wasn’t enough, there are some great looking screenshots of the cars and locales from the game, whetting our appetite even further for the return of a series that’s been missing from our gaming time for far too long.
GRID is out on 11th October 2019 on PC, Xbox One and PS4, and we’ll bring you our thoughts and a review as close to the release date as possible.
