Aside from wanting a LEGO rendition of the Metal Gear Solid series (come on Hideo, make it happen!), there’s only one other franchise we were hoping would be given the plastic brick treatment – Jurassic Park. Today we hear the news that it’s going to happen, and the cries of joy from Graham could be heard from 20 miles away. We’re a bit partial to any games that come from Travellers Tales, and LEGO Jurassic World adds to the rapidly expanding universe. The teaser trailer landed today.
Featuring the first three films as inspiration, and incorporating the upcoming summer movie, LEGO Jurassic World will have you visit familiar locations, face off against the dinosaurs, and even play as a dinosaur; giving us all the chance to live out those childhood fantasies of being able to walk with the extinct beasts – albeit only as pixels. There’s not much to go on at the moment, and we could pretty much speculate that the structure will be a bit like Marvel Super Heroes with a large hub world and integrated missions – no real surprises there if we’re right. What we’re really looking forward to though, as with all LEGO games, is the humour and innocent fun poking to be had at the source material. There aren’t many areas better to take a look at than a dark tale of commercial science gone wrong in the most horrific way… unless we turned the Prof’s “mistake” with Brian into a game.
LEGO Jurassic World will release this June for pretty much every system available, except iOS and Android.
