The Evil Within: World Within Trailer

The Evil Within Feature

It’s creeping ever closer, stalking your every move, and ready to pounce when you least expect it.  Well, as long as you aren’t expecting 14th October 2014.  The Evil Within is nearly upon us and Tango Gameworks and Bethesda are aiming to scare the living sh*t out of you.  Promising a true survival horror/action experience, you take the role of Detective Sebastian Castellanos fighting for his life in a nightmarish world of freaks and monsters.

We’re intrigued to see how this will play out as a good action horror title – we’ve not had a decent Resident Evil/Silent Hill-esque game to shake us out of our comfort zone for some time.  Alien Isolation is The Evil Within’s main competition in terms of new releases, and the main focus there for providing the scares is only tension.  This looks like it’s going down the Saw vein (or sawing into veins), and is going to shock and disgust you… we can see the Daily Mail headlines now.  We’ll have a review coming as soon as we make it out alive, if that’s even possible.

The Evil Within releases on the 14th October in the EU and US, 16th October in Australia and New Zealand, and 23rd October in Japan; and will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.  Pre-orders are available at most good retailers, and the bonus Fighting Chance pack you’ll get looks like it’ll come in handy.
