Dark Souls II released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC earlier this year – Cev reviewed it and loved it. Little did he know that just over a year later there’d be a Game of the Year edition, and on the latest generation of hardware too. It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, there was always a question on why the game wasn’t coming out on PS4 or Xbox One and now we know why. What is coming in the new edition – dubbed Scholar of the First Sin – is the three DLC packs, an expanded story, additional in-game events, a new NPC, new enemies, and gameplay improvements. Obviously, porting the game to the new platforms means that there’s a graphical overhaul too, and it’s looking good.
Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will be released on the 3rd April 2015 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, as well as a re-release on PS3 and Xbox 360. If you’ve already got Dark Souls II then there’ll be a free update that will bring your version up to date so that you can experience Drangelic in the same way as newcomers.
