We’ve all got games that we should have finished, but didn’t quite manage it for one reason or another. It could be we spent months waiting for them to arrive in our lives, they then turned out to be time-sinks and we moved onto a newer, greater game. They could be those wonderful Games With Gold/PlayStation Plus/Steam freebies that sit in our libraries, untouched and unloved. Or it might be a simple case of real life lined up its sights and our gaming pastime had to take one for the team.
Whatever the reason there’s a pile of shame big or small that belongs to all of us, and we want to help you reduce it. Codec Momentum is about us giving people the impetus to finish something from that pile, whether it’s on our Codec Call podcast, through social media with #CodecMomentum, or just outright bribery. Simply fill out the form to let us know which game you want to get to the end of, send us a screenshot confirming you’ve done it and we’ll add you to our Codec Momentum Ranking Table, as well as putting you in our monthly draw for a £10 PSN/XBLA/Steam voucher.
We’ll send you a personalised Facebook or Twitter banner and avatar to proudly bear if you complete your game(s)… but what about upping the stakes? If you pledge to get the platinum trophy/full 1000 gamerscore/all Steam achievements on your game, and are the winner of the prize draw, we’ll double the reward! Committing to this shouldn’t be taken lightly, fail in your pledge and you won’t get anything at all; and note that to qualify the game must have a measurable completion percentage or not have all trophies/achievements awarded just for completing story missions (like Telltale’s The Walking Dead for example).
