There might be one game coming out 1st September that’s hogging all the publicity, and whilst it’s likely to be Mr. Kojima’s last foray into the Metal Gear universe, it is by no means the only epic title coming out on that day. Mad Max has been in development for some time, stretching back to 2008 for the initial concepts with George Miller, but has been in production with Avalanche Studios since at least early 2013. Shifting out Just Cause 3 duties to their New York branch, the team in Sweden have focussed on bringing an authentic ravaged wasteland experience to gamers that will hopefully do justice to the beloved franchise. Judging from what we’ve seen so far, and from the recently released TV spot, we’re in for a rollercoaster ride.
Mad Max is an open world, third-person action game where players become the titular character – a lone warrior in a savage post-apocalyptic world where cars are the key to survival. It’s every man for himself and playing as the reluctant warrior, players must embark on a treacherous journey to build the ultimate war vehicle and leave the madness behind. To help you on your way there’s exclusive content coming to the PS4 in the form of the Road Warrior Survival Kit – these should make taking on Scabrous Scrotus‘ Warboys even more fun.
Mad Max, developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner Bros Games, will be released on 1st September on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
